    Unhappy Error using MP 2006

    I used the following code in VB.net 2003/MP2004 and it worked fine
    "
    objTemplate = "C:\North_America.ptm"
    AxMappointControl2.NewMap(objTemplate)

    I upgraded my mappoint to 2006 and I started getting the following
    error (and in vb.net 2003)

    "This application cannot open this file. Consult Help for information about compatible formats."

    Am I missing some syntax here ?

    Thanks for any help .

    Maybe you need to convert the file interactively first. With MapPoint open, go to File Open and then open your template, it will probably ask if you want to convert it to MapPoint 2006. Do it and then I think you app will work again ?

    Good luck,
    Eric

    Thanks for the replies.

    I re-installed.
    I used OpenMAP
    I saved it as 2006 Map.

    No luck yet.

    Mappoint 2006 and vs2003

    I tried a simple program with Visual Studio 2003 and mappoint 2006.

    code :

    Dim objtemp = "C:\North_America.ptm"
    Dim objMap As MapPoint.Map
    'Use the default North American Map
    objMap = AxMappointControl1.OpenMap(objtemp)

    I am getting the following error.

    Thanks for any help !!

    This application cannot open this file. Consult Help for information about compatible formats.

    Yes I can.

    In fact,

    my application works on Windows 2000/Visual Studio 2003/Dot net 1.1/Mappoint 2004.

    What I am trying to do is run the same application

    with Windows XP Prof/Visual Studio 2003/Dot Net 1.1/Mappoint 2006.

    Hmm very wierd. I'm sure you tried but just to be sure, try again to copy the ptm file from the W2K box to WinXP.
