Exceeding 8 ranges when linking data

I have as many as 40 projects working at the same time. Each project has multiple locations to map. Is there a way to link Mappoint to my database and give each project a different pushpin color. SO far, I am limited to 8 ranges. I assume I can create queries and split the data into groups of 8, but I was just wondering if there is an easier way. :?

AFAIK, there's not an easy way.. short of investing in MapInfo. In past prpjects with this requirement in MapPoint I've adapted code from the spatial data importer sample to achieve this but it can be slow..
