Excel templates for mappoint?

Hi,

Im new to this forum and quite new to mappoint. Im working as analist for a big multinational in the transportation & logistics commodity on European level. We had some discussions about choosing specific software for transportation and finnaly we choosed for Mappoint as we can extract data to and from Excel. I got some templates from a friend and played with them and this works very well. My question is: are there any sites which are offering Excel templates for Mappoint? I am actually looking for a template in Excel where I can fill in a city and city destination, so mappoint draws the lane of the trip. This should be an easy drawing, I mean straight from city to destination without the actual trip (a straight line). The more important the trip, the thicker the line. Is there something like this? And is this possible with Mappoint?

I would like to thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Please feedback, also if you are (almost) sure that this is impossible.

Regards,
MrAlcoa

Re: Excel templates for mappoint?

Yes, this is quite possible. Take a look at the Excel tutorials --

Working With Excel and MapPoint - MP2K Magazine

The code in there can be used to serve as examples of how to program this in Excel. Also, I'm sure someone can be hired to hack it together for you to your specifications. Over the last four years I have done several small jobs like this for people.

Thank you for the quick reply and thank you for the information. I will have a look at this and Im quite sure I can work things out as Im quite known with several coding languages as VB and C. But if I cant do it, Im sure I can find someone to hire to do this.

Again thank you for your kindness, this is much appreciated.
