Would be glad to hear if the UDF functions work with MapPoint 2006 as well.

Tried copying and pasting Hagers first example right into the Excel 2003 VBA Editor. Entering the values in the Excel sheet as proposed by Hager and invoking the formula with =StraightLineDist(A1, A2) just provoked an error message telling me that the function contained unknown text. (By the way, the MapPoint Object Library in the Tools Reference menu were ticked).

Would otherwise be a very handy tool!

Well it did work in MapPoint 2006! I did a mistake when inserting the function in Excel VBA.
Glad to see that the code bits you presented in your mini tutorial also works as UDF:s in Excel cells.

Congrats on getting it to work! Do you want to post your spreadsheet as an attachment with some short instructions? Maybe it will help some other people.
