Export Long/Lat from MP 2004

Hi everyone,

We have ~2,000 addresses, and for each address, we want to find the 8 closest addresses from the same set. A data guy in my organization says he can do this if I can provide him with the long/lat coordinates.

We have a license for MP2004, so I imported a sample of addresses, but I can't find a way to export the long/lat.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

EDIT: I'm also open to other creative ways to solve this problem. Thanks!

Re: Export Long/Lat from MP 2004

The Pushpin Tool will do this.

MapPoint 2006 added properties .Latitude and .Longitude you could use to loop over your pushpins in code and dump it out with some programming.. with MapPoint 2004 though I think you still had to use Gilles Kohl's hack
A More Compact Method for Obtaining Lat/Long

hope this helps!

Eric

Eric,

Thank you so much for your post. I chose the second route, but started to struggle with how to use the code, and noticed that Gilles referenced another article on how to do the same thing in his introduction, so I eventually used this code from Chris Gebhardt, which worked great.

Thanks again!
