I'm having a total nightmare and after spending ages looking on the net and help files was hoping someone here could help me. On mappoint 2001 I've got a load of different colour pushpins, which relate to pickups we do at work. The different pickups are on different days, different weeks (all collections fall into weeks 1-4). To give you an idea the key is:
Week 1
Blue pin: every week
Red pin: every 2 weeks
Black pin: every 4 weeks
Week 2
Blue pin: every week
Red sideways pin: every 2 weeks
Black circle: every 4 weeks
Week 3
Blue pin: every week
Red pin: every 2 weeks
Black sideways pin: every 4 weeks
Week 4
Blue pin: every week
Red sideways: every 2 weeks
Blue flag: every 4 weeks
In addition to this, the area we work within is split into 5 zones, eg Monday: North; Tuesday: South; Wednesday: Central etc etc
As a result, I have got a map with lots of different types of pushpins mixed up on a map. Obviously, in many areas there will be one kind of red pin in one part of the zone and another kind of pin in another part of the zone - go to one part on even weeks and the other on odd weeks. But spread across will be blue pins for those sites where we visit every week.
I have exported these pins to excel, but when I imported into MP 2006 I chose different colour pins and it didn't work, as it regarded my pins as representing a range (I presume geographical range - only 8 pins appeared on the new map). I also tried importing as pins, but they were all the same design and colour, so did not tell me how frequently we visited that area of the zone at a glance.
I need to be able to either:
- allocate a value in the export depending upon the kind of pin used. This is then translated back into a different pin representation on MP 2006, or;
- export the different colour pins at different times (the select function won't work because they are so mixed up together). I was wondering if there is a way of only viewing one kind of pin at once on the map?
I've got around 800 pins within a reasonably small geographic area
This is all because MP 2006 cannot read maps from MP2001, which strikes me as pretty crazy
Thanks in advance!
