Exporting info outside drivetime zones

I have several drivetime zones in a map, and exported all clients within each zone to Excel. However, I now need a list of everyone who is not within any of the zones. Short of drawing a freeform to encompass everyone in that category, which needless to say would be a SERIOUS pain in the tush, is there a way to get MapPoint to export that for me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is not a function built into MapPoint to export only pushpins that are not in drivetime zones but it can be accomplished with custom programming.

If you are not familiar with COM Add-ins, they allow a programmer to add functions like this to MapPoint via the tools menu.

To add a COM Add-In that someone makes for you, choose COM-Add-ins from the tools menu, click ADD, and browse to the .DLL file that was provided to you and the "program" will appear on your tools menu.

Feel free to contact me if you need help with this.

Excel is your answer

Although MapPoint doesn't have the feature you're looking for, it's pretty easy to accomplish what you want in Excel. Just export all the records first, then the record sets inside each of the drivetime zones. Then you compare the full set with the drivetime set, and the differential is the set of records that are not inside any of the drivetime zones.

Thanks guys...

Not sure exactly how I'll end up doing it....I may go the Excel route, simply because I'm a lot more familiar with that than I would be with using COM add-ins.

Another thought...I don't suppose it's possible to delete pushpins within a drivetime zone? I guess that's asking the same question I was asking originally, only backwards...and it would probably require the use of add-ins as well, eh?

*wondering why I'm spending time at home thinking about this*

I seriously need a life!
