I imported data and then created 4 territories from census tract. Can I export the data so that I can find out the points that fall into the individual territories?

The MapPoint package (based on my experience of MP Europe 2006) doesn’t allow you to export records within a territory. If you use ‘export to excel’ on territories you end up with just a list of the constituent geographical units (counties, postode sectors, etc). The territory planning element of MapPoint assumes that a territory will have already been assigned to each of your records in your own database.

Whenever I set up a set of territories I also always draw and save my own boundary around each one, using the freeform drawing tool. I then use these boundaries to export to excel, and then in excel give each point a territory definition code. A bit laborious, but it works for my purposes. I’m sure there is a neater programming solution but I’ve never worked on it.
