Hello,

I am very new to map point so what I am trying to do might be super simple. With that disclaimer out here is what i a trying to do.

I have custom territories for my company which are color coded based on the growth rates of these regions. Now i need to comare a region with all the adjacent regions and see if the growth rates dffer by more than 5%.
If they do ( and only if they do) I want to plot our customers in these regions.

So to sum it up I want to be able to compare values of each district with its neighbours and based on the result of these comparison I want to be able to selectively plot data from a huge list of data.

Can anyone help/ give suggestions

Thanks

Hey there folks. The non-profit I volunteer for has MapPoint 2010, but would like to use differently; I'll explain later.

For now though - since US streets are constantly changing I would like to know if MapPoint has periodic updates to its map data. Can we just purchase an update of the map data or do we need to purchase the latest version?

As for using MapPoint differently. Our data, in an Access database, consists of approximately 3000 clients. These clients are separated into routes containing 3-15 clients per route. There are 217 routes. Further the routes are grouped into territories containing 2-15 routes per territory. There are 44 territories. All the clients are contained within one county. The territories are manually defined as portions of the county. We would like to manually define the territory boundaries and have them display on the map. Within each territory we would like each route to have its own stickpin color. Same color stickpins would be used in different territories. I hope that is clear. Can the above be accomplished in MapPoint?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

I am trying to map out my company's competitors in a region. I have compiled an excel workbook that lists our competitors by supplier, name, street location, city, state, zip, and the product they stock from their supplier. Each competitor has their own worksheet in the workbook. I have imported my data by using the Link option which seems to be the best way so updating is easy.

My end goal for this project it to be able to have our locations up and compare it to our compeitors one by one. I cannot find any option in MapPoint that lets me do so. If someone knows how to please let me know. After reading some other threads it seems that I might need to layer the data sets over each other one by one.

Thanks,

I'm new to MapPoint and am trying to create a territory map for my team of 4 managers.

I have a spreadsheet with the following columns: # of customers, state, manager. My end goal is to have a color coded map of the USA, each manager has a color and the # of customers is displayed in each state. I know this is simple and I am just missing a step somewhere. I currently have a small text box inserted manually for each state with the # of customers displayed, but the colors for text box fill are not the same as territory colors, so they look pretty shoddy.

I've tried a few different methods, and have looked through the forum, but didn't find an answer. I apologize if I overlooked something.
Thanks for any suggestions.
The Friday heading into Memorial Day weekend is a typically heavy-traffic day, meaning congestion and slowdowns.* The big news around Western Washington this week is an I-5*bridge collapsed (video).
There is a nifty little feature in Streets & Trips called ‘avoid area’ that was designed for these types of blockages.* Here is how it works:
How to create an Avoid Area

Create a route as you normally would

Pan and zoom the map into the area you would like to avoid (bridge out, low overpass, busy downtown center etc).

Right-click and drag a rectangle over the desired area

Right-click in the rectangle and choose ‘avoid area’ from the menu which appears

Streets & Trips will not route you through the resulting pale yellow box.* (Note: the avoid area rectangle must encompass a Hwy exit or a cross-street intersection for this to work).
Safe travels and enjoy your long weekend!
It's difficult for my sales team to plan routes if they don't have a pin to go off of. I don't understand why MapPoint isn't applying a pushpin like all the others. I use 2013 version. Can anyone help me with this by chance? There are only two points that we know of, but unfortunately, have no way of knowing without manually searching all.
