I'm a newb at this stuff and I only need the information for a project we're doing in school, but there's a couple things I'd like to be able to do and I'd like to know which are possible and which are impossible or I would have to wirte my own COM add-in to do:
1) Every 10 (or 20 or 30 or whatever) seconds, grab the GPS coordinates from the GPS receiver and make them push pins or waypoints or stops on a route or something.
2) Take a set of pushpins or stops on a route or waypoints and save the GPS coordinates of each pushpin or stop or whatever to a file.
That's it. If anyone knows of any such functionality in any freeware software (or Mappoint), that would be great. I have the CoordEx add-in for MapPoint, which seems like it will do what I want here, especially the second one, which is the most important, but I can't get it to install properly. It keeps saying the installation was interrupted and must be restarted. So, I know this is a lot, but any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
