Similar Task?

We are looking to extract just the location data for ALL Gas Stations in the US. Could this be achieved?

It's possible that the extracted data is incomplete

Because as close as we get to the north pole the 1 degree of latitude means more than 100 miles and because the presended procedure increment the latitude with 1 degree step at a time it's possible that we skip some areas and have some POI never iterated. For that reason is possible that the extracted data is incomplete. On the other hand this procedure does not extract city names. Is there a way to extract city names? (some small cities with no POI are for exemample completely ignored)

Missing information in MapPoint 2004

Hi

I tried the code for extracting POI on mappoint 2004. I extracted a sample and found that some POI had city, street, zip etc. But a larger number of them did not. When I found a locaiton that only had phone number using mappoint proper, I fould the location had all the information (street, city zip). But programmically it did not.

Is there a problem with 2004, or am I missing something.

Thanks for any pointers.

Hi Ecreekmore,

When preparing the Time Zone article, Leon Schell mentioned something about being able to access hidden fields in the POI database by using negative parameters? I haven't explored this personlly and I don't remember if he mentioned phone numbers in particular, but this is what I'd explore...:

hello:

I'm trying this with MP 2004 and run into the problem that I cannot select both "Mappoint Control 11.0" AND "Mappoint 11.0 Object Library" as a reference. I get a "Name conflicts with existing ....." error.

If I continue with either one, I run into a "Variable not defined" error on the "MappointControl1(.Active) reference in the extraction code.

Tried many things to get around this.

Any ideas/suggestions where I'm going wrong?

I created the Form in Excel 2003/VBA. Is that a problem?

Thanks a million.

Jake
