Question "Failed to Import" error when importing Post Code data from excel

Hi,

I'm new to this site and also to Map Point 2009. I'm not technical at all and basically use the software for displaying the locations of our clients for Stakeholder reports.

I have a spreadsheet which works in 2006 but in 2009 gives the error "Failed to Import".

Can anyone tell me what this might relate to as it isn't that helpful!!

Other lists of Post Codes do map successfully.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

LcL

Re: "Failed to Import" error when importing Post Code data from excel

Hi,

You say other spreadsheets are importing fine, so you should be able to find the difference why this particular one does not.

If you cannot find any difference then it is possible that one or more records fail. To find out you can try to delete parts of the data until it imports. This way you can find if some of the data is offending.

Re: "Failed to Import" error when importing Post Code data from excel

Hi,

Thanks for that. I copied one of the worksheets (there were 21) and tried it seperately and Hey Presto it worked. Gradually copying all out and mapping from the new spreadsheet.

So frustrating tho.

Thanks for the help!
