Sir,
I am a final year computer engineering student studying in India.
I am working on my final year project currently and needed some of your expert advice.

I am using Mappoint Webservice Evaluation account for this project.

Project details :-

Emergency 9-1-1

Public works, homeland security, and other community services (such as Police, Hospitals, Fire Stations) require you to know where your mobile workers are so you can direct them more efficiently. Serve the public better by equipping mobile staff with essential knowledge to act quickly during administrative activities and emergencies.

Our software application and Web services will help in building that link between the IT framework to mobile locations, maps, routes, and geographic events that will help an organization and its staff communicate and respond more effectively.

The Primary Operations will be as follows :
Serve e-9-1-1 callers
Respond to public works problem reports
Inform mobile crews of changing emergency conditions
Integrate mobile location into short messaging alert notifications and e-mails
Provide Route Assistance to customers.

Kindly guide me how can I use data mapping capabilities alongwith Mappoint WebserviceSDK for my Location Based Service(LBS).
Is Mappoint webservice the right choice for this project?
Do I need any other software for data mapping capabilities ?

hai,
If you are planing to find the find the real time location of a phonenumber then you need to use mappoint location server for finding the location of the phone.MLS will be returning the latitude and longitude.You can give this as input to the webservice to generate map .

And
If you are only planning to generate the map of a gien address then you can do it only with webservice.If you give the address to the webservice as input then it will return the necessary information to generate the map.You can get 45 days trial account to test your application.

But
As i mentioned above if you are using MLS then the difficulty increases

First you need to install MLS in your system
Then you need to find a location provider (like SPRINT in US) and need to sign a contract agrement with them.
But if you just need to test MLS b4 implementation then MLS supports DEMO location provider which returns latitude and longitude of two phone numbers.You can locate it and render the map

It is really interesting to work on it.
