Is there a way to display Fire Stations (Departments) in the United States on Map Point?

Hi Sandrins,

Yes, it is possible. MapPoint doesn't have fire stations, but you can import your own database, and then display it on the map as pushpins.

Thanks, Marvin. We are an insurance agency looking to find suitable software to use for looking at property, measuring the distances to fire stations from the property and being able to see city and county boundaries. Would MapPoint be able to do all this?

MapPoint is able to do each item you've listed, with the exception of "city boundaries."
Perhaps postal code boundaries will suffice?

You can see shading for urbanized areas, but I'm not sure it would be very accurate for city boundaries or help much with fire protection districts, it would take some work to determine the nearest fire station for a particular address.

But once you have that, then you could estimate travel times and road distance to an address. I think MapPoint is a good tool for what you want to do, but you will have to do some work with the data and assigning an address to a nearest fire station.
