| Garmin will not buy TeleAtlas In another momentous shift in the whole GPS/mapping market, Garmin is not going forward with their bid to buy TeleAtlas. This leaves Tomtom as the likely buyer. Free Preview - WSJ.com "Tele Atlas's apparent value increased sharply last month when Nokia Corp. announced an $8.1 billion bid for Navteq. In making its bid for Tele Atlas, Garmin said it felt forced to challenge TomTom's bid to ensure that Navteq and Tele Atlas don't both fall into competitors' hands." Now will Microsoft or Google make a strong bid for Garmin? A Microsoft bid makes more sense as they are already in lots of different businesses outside or software specifically, but not sure it would make any sense at all in any case... we'll see, I expect soon!
