Geocode your data directly from SQL Server 2005

Well, since some of this stuff is still requested from time to time I decided to publish some old whitepapers as well. One of those described an integration of SQL Server 2005 and MapPoint Web Service. As you know, there are no spatial-features whatsoever in SQL Server 2005 but SQL Server 2005 introduced .NET-managed procedures. Since you can use .NET-managed procedures easily to call external web services you can as well create a SOAP-call to the*MapPoint Web Service. The whitepaper describes such an integration step-by-step. You can sign-up for a free developer account for the MapPoint Web Services and start using it today. The link to sign-up and further resources can be found in my favorites.
