Geofencing in Mappoint

Hey all,

Is there a possibility to receive all the point on a route or a point every x m?
I need to write an application which does some basic geofencing. I receive a location (decimal coordinates) of a truck and must check if that point is on the route or x km of . To do that I need a lot of points on a route, more then the once I get in the direction object.

Is it possible to retrieve such a list?

Re: Geofencing in Mappoint

Hi,

you have al the interception points when you calculate a route. a workaround for what you want is to calculate all points by pretending if all points are connected with a strait line. of course all roads in between are not strait, but I think that is the best you can do. Maybe others have better ideas?

Re: Geofencing in Mappoint

The directions have locations associated with them, but these are intended for a "best view" - ie. there is no guarantee that the point is on the route.

If your route is a "shortest" route and not a "fastest" route, then you could add frequent rest stops - every minute or so. The rest stops in the list of the directions have their locations set correctly.
