getting lattitude and longitude from a pushpin

other than using the location sensor.... is there a way to figure out how to get lat and long on a pushpin?

some information on my goal: i have 300+ pushpins on my map. i want to name them via lat and long. i opened up the location sensor and if i scroll over the pushpin i get the lat and long, but i cant copy the coordinates to enter as the pushpin name. i have to manually write it down then enter it in. its kind of annoying and time consuming this way.

so does anyone have an idea for me that doesnt require custom programming?

This is very straightforward using custom programming. As an alternative you might consider investing in the pushpin tool

If you wanted to get started with MapPoint Programming, these tutorials make it pretty painless

Working With Excel and MapPoint - MP2K Magazine

Also check out PinsToFile - it also exports lat/lon and is free but otherwise the Pushpin Tool and PinsToFile have different functions.

Utilities - MapElves

Re: getting lattitude and longitude from a pushpin

If taking the programming route...

If you're in MapPoint 2006, you can use the Longitude and Latitude properties on the pushpin object's Location object.

If you're using MapPoint 2002 or 2004, you will have to use a bit of geometry to tease the coordinates out of the Location object. Search MP2KMag for "CalcPos" - this will do the calculation for you. Gilles Kohl wrote it and has made it freeware.
