Getting a list of streets from MapPoint

    Hi,

I need to get a street list for three different towns and am having a real hard time finding them.

Can I use the MapPoint interface to get this information? Is there an option in the API which can give me access?

I'd be willing to do some coding if it's a round about way of creating the list.

Conversely, does anybody know where I can get this information directly? The Post Office comes to minds.

    Thanks.
    Bob

    Eureka!

I thought of a cute little trick.

These thre towns can be represented by a rectangle, for which I have the corrdinates for each of the four corners. I could pich a spot as home base, then pick the destination by incrementing either the lat. or the long. Then geting a route between them. Then once I have downloade the route, I will get the road names.

As I increment throughout the delivery area, and check for duplicate roads, I wil end up with a completed list.

Now the question is how do I get the route? I have heard it was possible but never had the occasion to try. Cold someone send me the function name?

    Thanks.

    One more thought

Actually, the easiest wold be to just increment the coordinates by a tinty bit, then getting the address at that point.

Is there a MapPoint function which returns an adress at a given lat/long?

    Thanks.

    I take that back

I really need to retrieve the list of streets of a given route. That's the only way I'll be able to do this.

I'm able to add waypoints and calculate the route, then get various statistics on the run. But I need to get the road names for each leg of the trip.

    Hi Bob,

You can increment the position a little into a selected area and use ObjectsFromPoint to collect the streetnames. Afterwards you have to filter out the doubles.

There is also a FindNearby, but I think it is only returning points of interest.
