Hi. One major difference, before anything else is said: In MapPoint, you don't supply your own data - in ArcIMS you must. MapPoint is a web service, which in itself is very potent, driven by hundreds of servers, so scaling is not really an issue here. ArcIMS is great if you want any control over what data is used, and how that is presented, in which cases MapPoint doesn't let you go near the core. Did that clear the first clouds for you?
