trying to find addresses for some places in hawaii is proving to be a challenge. for example 68-3110 kekumu place, WAIKOLOA , hi , 96738. the hyphen messes things up. i can get close to the address, but then ALL addresses along the street show up as 68. also all addresses on any street i click on in Waikoloa show as 68. when i find other small towns the issue is similar, when everything is 61 or 64 or ... what gives with the addressing scheme there and how does one find an exact address. we are using mappoint 2004 or 2006, i am testing this issue just opening mappoint and doing a find. thanks. jim

i tried finding the address at google maps and mapquest on the web, google maps had the same issue, mapquest almost the same, but put up a range 68-3300-68-3599. didnt find an exact match.

I just tested it in Microsoft Streets & Trips 2009 (the result should be the same in MapPoint 2009). I see the same issue you have described.

Microsoft uses map data by Navteq, so I tested this in Garmin Mobile PC, a GPS software that comes also with Navteq map data. The same problem here.

Then I tested this in a program that doesn't use Navteq data, but rather maps by Tele Atlas. This is a recently released software, Mapfactor PC Navigator 8, but it experiences the same issue, unfortunately.

In my humble opinion, the only work-around is to relocate outside Hawaii.
