I wrote a two-part article for MP2KMag about using Python to process MapPoint data, the second part used US Census Bureau information as an example:

    Part1:
Using Python to Control MapPoint, Part 1 - MapPoint Articles - MP2K Magazine

    Part2:
Using Python to Control MapPoint, Part 2 - MapPoint Articles - MP2K Magazine

The US Census Bureau has various files and formats. I was working with the city summary data - plotting cities above a specific size. It could be easily adapted, eg. to plot cities above a certain population density.

(Eric: We should probably have hyperlinks between these two parts?)
