I have a delivery company and my delivery software uses F8 to bring up a mapquest map with all address info filled in. the programmer say he has the F8 key passing command line parameters what ever that means.
My question is how do I do this with mappoint loaded on my server? What would have to be done to achieve this other than getting the proper license from mappoint?

The best way would be to use MapPoint's programming interface rather than trying to pass the information on a command line.

The interface is a "COM" interface, and is documented in the MapPoint help. This site also has a variety of articles covering the interface.
There are also two books that cover it - MapPoint for Dummies (a little dated, and more for "users" rather than "programmers") and " Programming MapPoint in .NET" by Chandu Thota (much more recent, and covers all modern variants of MapPoint).

Most of the help you'll find uses Visual Basic 6 which is getting a bit long in the tooth. Luckily the use of COM means it can be used by virtually any serious programming language.

You should point your programmer at the above resources. Or I (and others on these forums) could be hired to produce code snippets/examples that he/she could use.
