| I am using MapPoint 2004 and have imported a data set into the map. The data set contains over 50 points and i want to create a route to stop at each point. However the starting point and end point for each day needs to be my office location. I figured out how to make the office the start point and end point for the entire route, how do i make it a return spot each day?? thanks ![]() ![]() |

| Re: Help with Routing
Hi, You can use Waypoint.Reorder() method to set a certain waipoint to top and another to bottom. So you are sure these are the first and the last before calculate.

Hi Wilfried, Sorry if i sould a little sleepy right now, but what exactly is "Waypoint.Reorder()" Is this something within the program itself or is it something i need to add or download? thanks for the help |

| Re: Help with Routing
It is a part of the programming interface. If I understand correctly, you have a lot of points that you want to route over a few days. Then use your office location as a return address at the end of each day? You can't do this with MapPoint. What you would have to do is to manually split your points up into days. Then you can create each day's route and set your office as the start & end location. You can "Optimize" the route - the start and end will be respected, but the points within the day's route will be re-ordered. Richard

Thanks Winaed, That is exactly what i was trying to do. Now that i know it is a manual process, is there a tool out there (maybe a different mapping software) that will automate this process for me? My data is not static, so it changes pretty much everyday based on registration. So i would need to have something that i can link the source file to and have it auto route my daily schedule. ![]() |

TourSolver could do it, and include a lot of other optimization parameters (loads, capacities, time windows, legal constraints, etc). It comes with its own map data (a plus) but is priced accordingly. It only really uses MapPoint for data input and data display.
