How to add labels to all pushpins

Hi!

I'm having customer data stored in a excel file. Each record set has an unique number. These number is used to identifie the customer record.
Is it possible to add this number to all pushpins on the mappoint map (with one step)?

Hope you can help me.

Thanx in advance

Alex

Hi Alex,

if you import it, the column "ID" or similiar can be imported with the import data wizard.

If you mean programmatically:
I do it with the Name option for a pushpin. So that the pushpin name is the unique ID...

thanks for your answer

Thank you for your help Peter!

I'm afraid that I haven't stated clearly what I want to do exactly... Sorry!

On my map there are (too) many pins in a special area. Each pin should show the particular special ID number. These numbers should be visible, when I print the map.

So I just want to 'label' the pins. If I use the 'show information' tool, the big 'window' with the information in it "pops up".
The problem is that there is no overview, after I used 'show information' with every pin...
I just want a tiny number near each pin.

Do you unterstand my problem ?

Yours

Alex.

click right, "display name" (may it's called different as I use the german version) shows only the name (i. e. the ID)

You're welcome :-)

No, I don't know any german mappoint site.

Sometimes here' s too less traffic therefore I'm looking for a newsgroup or a mailinglist for MapPoint (developing)...
Does anybody know some?

Grüße aus Berlin!

I realize this is a poor work-around, but one thing people have done is use babelfish to translate pages.. for instance,

- the home page in German:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...g.com&lp=en_de

- a popular article:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...erver.dns-less

- this post :-)
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...89bf129fc13857

There are some drawbacks, the links don't always work, code gets mangled, it's slower, etc. but does help in understanding an article.

Haha, the translation is very funny although they're getting better and better...

But, the problem with this site is not the language but the few people posting here. The forum itself (technic - layout - moderators etc.) is excellent!!!

Is there another discussion forum or a mailing list or a newsgroup for developing with MapPoint?
