Hi,

How can I export Mappoint POI data? For example I have another program that I would like to Mappoint POI data to. I want to export ALL the POI data for region and then export it to my PDA mapping program. I would like to export it to a Excel spreadsheet as one possibility but every time I try, nothing happens. It says no data to export.

Any thoughts?

There's an article on here about exporting the POI information by John Washenberger. If you don't spot it in the articles, go to the Authors list.

Note that there are probably copyright issues around using the POI data outside of MapPoint.

Thanks for the info. I read the article and I don't have some of the tools necessary to do what he suggested. It wouldn't be worth the time or expense for me to do this since it would be just for my own personal issues.

I didn't think there would be any issues with respect to copyrights if it was just for my personal use. I just don't always have my laptop around so I don't always have Mappoint available but my PDA always is. Unfortunately MS Pocket Streets does no routing so it is almost useless to me day to day.

Do you have Excel? I think the code could be modified to be an Excel macro to pull out specific POI's around a geographic area into an Excel worksheet.
