Hi all,

having problems exporting / converting postcodes to UK grid refs.

I loaded my 450 sites onto a map using UK post code data and can plot them all nicely but wish to export the same set of points to excel sheet but this time showing UK grid.

How can I do this.

I don't think you can.

If you're programming, 2004 adds a new method that creates a Location object from a GR - but not the other way around.

However you could write some code to do the conversion. Gilles Kohl's code (on this site) can find the longitude,latitude (WGS84) of a location or pushpin object. This can then be converted to a OSGB Grid Reference.

I have some experience with OSGB GRs and could be hired to code up this conversion if you are interested. (unfortunately, I have limited ownership of my conversion code so I can't publish it here)
If you want to do it yourself, I think the coord transforms can be found on the Ordnance Survey website.

Another note: I hope you're using MapPoint 2004. There's a bug when you read grid references into MapPoint 2002: MapPoint uses the wrong geoid resulting in errors up to 200m or so.
