I've just started using mappoint; went thru the tutorial and have gotten some basics, enough to get a few maps drawn, saved and printed. When you have a map open, how do you scroll slowly to move the map a very small amount? I've tried zooming out, then using the Select tool, include all the locations I want on the map. Then how do I get that centered easily? And how do I zoom in and out just a little to add only a few more streets or locations?

You can do this.. go to the edge of the map and then hold down the mouse. The cursor changes and you can fine-tune (center/pan) the map with precision. It's kinda funky!

I've used that large arrow to scroll but it moves so fast you're in the next state without a blink! I've also tried to re-size the frame but that only works for the legend side of the map. Is there a key stroke combination that would move the map more slowly?

The Large arrow.. while holding down the button, move the cursor back to middle. The map starts to "hover" and move slowly.. That's where you can get fine-tune movement.

This is not obvious that this is possible, I totally know where you're coming from. Actually I was upstaged a bit not that long ago by a guy who hired me to teach MapPoint to his customers when he butted in to point this out to the class in response to a question I failed to answer properly..

I found a little hand by the drop-down box containing map types, right next to the select tool. Just click the hand, then click and drag in the map-- the map moves just a bit.
