| how to read .shp files i am new to GIS. i want to read a .shp file, but i dont know its structure. plz guide me how to do this or any resources that can help me. Any help will be appreciated. Thankx.         |

You should read SHP document. Basically undersdand the relation among .shp, shx, and dbf. Then you can read shx getting the offset in shp then in dbf. Once you are ok with on record, you are ok for the rest. |
