how to use GIS to locate points on map using c#???

hi all. i have a question and i hope i will find the answer here. i need to make a program in c# which it will contains ( map window,text box to take value X,text box to take value Y and botton as enter).the program aims to, when i run the program. the map window loads a specific map. then i enter values for X and Y then i will click the botton.this button will locate this XY coordinates on the map by placing a small colored circle on the point.and then saves this points and other data say "my name" to data base.....that's all. i know i asked for too much but iam very fresh for mapping and GIS

You could use MapPoint as an ActiveX control.

There are other map controls around.

For a high powered solution, you could even use Quantum GIS. It is open source, although I don't know if anyone has tried to use it with C#.

first of all thank you for answering my question....it's clear that you are professional in GIS and mapping methods.but iam very new to mapping and my knowlage about GIS is very little...if you just have a pdf of something explains what you say,please give me it's link.also if you have a code of GIS for that purpose,please give it to me
