How to use the mappoint 1.0 active x control from C# ?

Hi. I've been able to instantiate a mappoint application then show it... But all the mappoints menus are still on screen. I would like to have only the map area... But it seems that I cant import the visual control onto the form... It does not appear on the COM components list... I've followed the instructions from microsoft (even the one where they explain how to convert the .dll to .tlb etc... but even can't import the control from the add/remove components to toolbox - the activex controp MapPointCtl doesnt seem to be imported...).
