I saw "telecom" mentioned as an example of using MapPoint. Do you know of any examples using MapPoint to show offices/sites and network connectivity, along with data such as circuit and asset information?

I have not seen actual examples that use Mappoint in the telecom industry but here are some of the things that you can do using Mappoint in that field.

You can use Mappoint in one of two ways. One is to use the Mappoint application which allows you to import data into Mappoint and display your network elements on a map with user defined symbols. You can then interactively click on a network element and display static information.

The other way is to use the Mappoint framework in a custom application. This option gives you more network management functionality. For example, you can use the system for fault management, fault monitoring and isolation. You can display alarmed network elements on the map. You can also programmatically draw your network connectivity model and with some logic use the connectivity model to do root cause analysis.

telecom..

I've been able to import the data into the application, but have gotten stuck on showing connectivity/circuits.

But the suggestion on custom application sounds like the way to go, but I haven't been able to locate "how to" info or training on customizing.

Anyone have luck on reference materials on customizing apps?

thanks!
