I think I have a similiar question to one posted recently. I am also working with Visual Basic(6.0) and MapPoint 2001. I have a set of data that I want to plot pushpins and I only have the City and State information. I want to be able to write code in Visual Basic which allows me to plot these Points. I am not sure how to code this. I know that if I folow the information from the help file, it requires me to have a complete address and not just the city and state. Thanks for any help.

Try it with a space instead of a null? Sorry I don't have 2001 installed anymore to figure this out for you. If you have the budget you might think about upgrading to 2002.

Thanks for all of your help. I got it figured out. It is a little different from what you said since it is 2001, but there were changes that needed to be made... Thanks again

I have tried to just specify a blank string and I still get the same problem. It says that null is invalid. I also tried what you suggested. I am still not sure. Thanks though.

MapPoint 2002 has a number of options for geocoding.. quoting from the Programming Help section for the FindResults method it states: "If you know the input is an address, use the FindAddressResults method on the Map to return only addresses. Likewise, if you know the input string is a place, use the FindPlaceResults method on the Map object to return only places." I know this is different from MapPoint 2001, but I'd be surprised if you can't do it somehow.. have you tried it specifying simply and blank string for the street address part?
