Importing 2000 Census boundaries into MapPoint

Can 2000 Census boundaries be imported into MapPoint? How? Can the imported boundaries be used to create thematic maps?

You could use something like the Spatial Data Importer developer sample to bring the boundaries in as drawing objects, but thematics would have to be done completely in code, there's no been in wizard for thematics of custom boundaries. One option might be to create a translation table to match Census 2000 data back to the Census 1990 boundaries.

Any idea when MapPoint gets the 2000 Census boundaries...

...and which one's? Census tracts only, or block groups too?

You could use the Spatial data importer to import both types of Census 2000 boundaries as drawing objects. Note that MapPoint 2002 does not have built-in block group data, so contructing an equivalence table would not be applicable.
