Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

Thanks Again

So if I understand correctly the next macro you are going to post is just a basic shell that I could apply to another spreadsheet set up in the same matter?

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

I would use the version I sent you for your data.. just ignore the dummy start and top.

The cleaned up version with some simple instructions, other example data, and prettified a bit is now posted in the MapForums Plus Downloads section.

MapForums Plus - MapForums Plus Downloads at MapForums.com

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

Started working with the template for importing stop times and now I am encountering a visual basic error...any idea what may be causing this?

Edit...Could this be caused by the number of entries I make into the macro...I ideally want to put in over 1000 stops...big project

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

I'm just now playing with the file you sent me via e-mail...

It had an error at row 104 with the PO Box.. it must not have recognized the Zip code or anything. (?)

For the rest it ran for several minutes before getting an error about "waiting for another application to complete an OLE action."

(Mem Usage grew to over 300k).

Finally it actually finished!

I'm sending you the Excel file and the resulting PTM file.

By the way, for others reading, it is 1,439 records.

In the end, the only issue was that one PO Box record it couldn't match.

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

Still trying to do different things with this stoptime app. Is there a way to do a couple things with it.

1. The macro inserts data just as stops on a route. Could it possibly import as pushpins too while still holding the stoptime data? As I am writing this though it may not be possible as Mappoint doesnt really allow a pushpin to hold stoptime data.

2. Instead of opening a new map everytime I run the macro, can it be setup to open an existing MapPoint file and put the route into that?

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

Yes and yes to both.. are you understanding the VBA code?

I was thinking of the requests if they would make sense for the version of it in the MapForums Plus downloads
( Import a Route with Stoptimes ), and I think those features might be out of scope for a general route imort tool, but maybe they could be options?

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

Do you have a local resource to help you with it or maybe a consultant on this board could offer their services?
