Importing Data for stop scheduling

Hello...just discovered these great forums today. I am currently working with a data set where I would like to be able to import the length of a stop along with all the other pushpin data that I am importing so I do not have to go through the tedious task of scheduling a length of stop for about 1400 locations. Is this possible in MapPoint 2006...if not is there an addin that allows for this or will it be available in the 2009 version?

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

I think you can do it with a little custom programming..

Can you post a sample of your stop data in Excel format?

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

Im not sure how I would post you the data...but to describe its just a basic excel spreadsheet...top row is headings...its the same spreadsheet I am using to import all my address, zip code, etc data from. However I have a column that expresses the stop time in minutes that I want to figure in to my route...if this doesn't make sense let me know

I'll see if I can write a little macro to do it. But it will depend on the exact column arrangement, etc. so it would be helpful if you posted an example of your list as an Excel file.

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

There is no specific start/stop point or time...this is just the amount of time spent at each location that I want to add in

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

I just picked a dummy start stop somewhere in between.

This code is not real pretty but it should work!

Just run the Macro under Tools.

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

thanks alot for the macro...exactly what i wanted to do...the only things I may want to change are how the stops are labeled (would like to use name as opposed to acct number) but I think I can play around with it and figure it out. Thank you so much again for your help

Re: Importing Data for stop scheduling

Sure no problem.

I'll post the macro with some cleaned-up code (and minus your example locations) as a tool under the "Plus" downloads...
