Install Mappoint from a DVD

I am trying to create a demo DVD which includes my company's software plus the Mappoint Trial. I cannot seem to come up with a mappoint install that does not ask for the 'run disk'. I have tried creating a network install point and copy these files to the DVD with no success. The network install works fine from a hard drive, but asks for the run disk when installing from the DVD. I suspect that the install somehow senses that the install is running from removable media and thinks it needs to request the run disk. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Regards,
Leon

What volume label are you giving the DVD? I believe the MP 2004 NA Run Disk needs to have the label GEO11NA

Cheers,

Dave

Way to go Dave!

That works. I'm not thrilled with having to give my DVD a volume label of 'GEO9NA' (i'm using MP 2002) and having to leave the Mappoint install at the root of the disc, instead of tucked away neatly in a subdirectory, but at least it works.

Thanks Dave.

Leon

You can also make an administrative install locally on your hard drive then burn it to the dvd. It works with my USB disk so I think it should work on a dvd, you can put it into a directory tree then
