I am involved in working with an interesting assignement combining Mappoint with Office Sharepoint. I happened to know about Mappoint. I downloaded the 60 day trial version of Mappoint SDK. I've got a couple of basic questions and queries. Please do let me know whats that I am missing ...
1. It did get installed but I could not find way in my start menu to navigate over from c://Programfiles/....
2. I am trying out certain samples ... I am not able to atleast run a single sample even after upting my web referance .... The error is " HTTP 401.Unauthorized."
for some I am not able to open the CS project file. error- "Windows does not have appropriate permissions"

I think you are referring to MapPoint webservice correct ? I dont know the answer to your question, but here is also another forum for MapPoint webservice and Virtual Earth where you probably get more answers.

Yes I am referring to Mappoint Webservice...
I even tried to get service from wsdl file... http://staging.mappoint.net/standard-30/mappoint.wsdl
its getting inserted as a simple ".net" folder inside webreferances in solution explorer..
but in vain...
