Sounds familiar.. what OS are you running? You may need administrator or power user priveleges..

I just got mappoint also and have the same 'cannot install over a network' message. Tells me to do a Administrative Insall, well I found the directions for the command line version of the admin install and cannot get it to work...??? Anyone have any clues....I am running WinXP Pro
Eric,
BTW....I am the admin on my computer and their are no other accounts.
Are you using the CD to do the install? :?:
the same problem for me. i downloaded MP thru Kazaa and tried to intall it from the directory i downed it.
If you dont have CD's to install from you have to make at first a Administration install.
The Administration installation copys only the Files into the directory wich you specify after calling setup in adminmode (for example C:\downloads\mappoint\CD1\setup.exe /a)
Aftre them you can install Mappoint by using the setup.exe in the specified directory from the adminmode installation.
bye
Is it possible to copy disk 2 (or 1 for that matter) to the hd so I dont have to keep putting the cd in?
I have the same problem an i do this in os but its no work , I have this path:Originally Posted by Josef

and still do not work. do you have an idea?
can't you just burn the discs?
also, at install time you can choose to do a 'full' instal, where all the data from disc 2 are copied to the hard drive so you don't need the cd to run.
