Check MSN MapPoint and AutoRoute 2003, if either of them have it, it is certain it will be in the next version of MapPoint. If not, there's still a chance as the next version of MapPoint will be a new data build.

Mappoint 2002, 2004

Hi Eric

Just found your site and felt that I had to comment.

I have recently started selling satellite vehicle tracking systems using Mappoint 2002 on a real time system. In mainland UK the results are excellent but in Ireland the results are very poor.
Not only is information such as road or street names practically non existent, the roads themselves do not match the satellite positioning. I know satellite positioning is not precise, but a quarter of a mile out!
The result is that if you scroll in any closer than half the scale the system becomes more of a calculated guess.
You are probibly going to say to wait for Mappoint 2004.
I have seen it and it is actually worse than 2002!
Belfast now has street detail but practically all the information outside Belfast in Northern Ireland has vanished.
I know that other satellite positioning systems have similar complaints and are looking for other sources of accurate mapping.
Maybe someone at Microsoft could make a bit of an effort before taking our hard earned Euros/Pounds.

Ireland Mapping

The problem with maps for Ireland probably stems from the licencing limitations of the national mapping agencies. My own company produces Ireland-wide digital maps at 1:100K scale, but I don't know if these can be incorporated into MapPoint. Botth NavTech and Teleatlas are producing their own maps for incorporation in to in-car navigation systems.
