Issues with KML and Bing Maps

I'm having some issues using Bing Maps with KML, and am looking for some help, or some people who have done this before. My main issue now centers around the fact that I am trying to have Bing Maps load in a KML file that is generated dynamically, and the map control seems to really dislike this.

My complete issue is detailed here:

Any clues?

Re: Issues with KML and Bing Maps

Have you checked the KML code that is produced? Have you tried the same KML in a static file? Have you tried snippets? You might be able to narrow it down to a particular entity.

Also I understand there are domain restrictions - I think the KML file might have to be on the same domain as the host web page? Not sure - but look into it.
(this is to help avoid XSS attacks).

Re: Issues with KML and Bing Maps

Thanks Winwaed - I ended up solving this. The issue was a twofold issue that came about due to (a) some debug code that my ColdFusion server was adding in to the generated KML, and one little space that was being put before the declaration at the beginning of the file, rendering it invalid XML. So, it's working now.

Re: Issues with KML and Bing Maps

As a note - I was able to make this solution work -- and it now performs great.

The main issue was that little oddities (i.e. non-escaped chars in XML entities, etc) were causing the KML file import to bomb out on the Bing Maps side of things, which caused many of the issues here. But now it rolls quite well!
