    Labelizing the Map

    Hi All,

Is it possible the labelize the map with custom data. For example After searching for Los Angeles in the default North America, United States map template i want to display the string "this is a test" below Los Angeles.
Can this be done programmatically in VB/VB .NET?

    Thanks,

    Atul

I certainly can. This is very stripped down:

    mapRecSet.MoveToPushPin somepushpin
    currentMap.Shapes.AddTextBox somepushpin.Location, n, m
    With currentMap.Shapes.Item(idex_of_newly_added_textbox ) 'this is typically currentMap.Shapes.Count
.Name = "TextBox1" & somepushpin.Name ' I construct the name this way, you can call it what you like
.Fill.FOreColor = vbYellow 'you can fill yours the way you like or leave it transparent
    .ZorderPosition = geoSendBehindRoads
.Text = "this is a test" ' your text here
.FontColor = vbBlue 'blue on yellow is very nice
    End With

    Re: Labelizing the Map

You can't do shape .ZorderPosition = geoSendBehindRoads, you have to use the method shape.ZOrder(MapPoint.GeoZOrderCmd.geoSendBehindRo ads)

I know this is an old thread but it came very high googling "Mappoint zorderposition". There does not appear to be any way of reading the zOrder, Zorderposition is not the same thing.

    Thanks.

That's funny. Yes, all those trillions of people searching for "Mappoint zorderposition" are in your eternal debt
