I got the AutoR 2004 on my laptop and I want to know if I put one GPS USB receiver the programm will work like navigator? somebody can tell me more about this? Thanks

I got the AutoR 2004 on my laptop and I want to know if I put one GPS USB receiver the programm will work like navigator? somebody can tell me more about this? Thanks

Does your GPS support NMEA? If so, then yes you should be able to.
Most GPS receivers support NMEA, although you may have to change a setting on the GPS.
The NMEA specification states a serial/RS-232 interface, but an increasing number of receivers only have USB. Hence they come with software to make the USB input look like a serial port matching the NMEA spec. You will have to install this software.
MapPoint/Streets&Trips/AutoRoute will then see the receiver as an NMEA device rather than a USB device.
