| layer problem [urgent] When I plot my data, gps positions, I also add an arrow so the user can see which way the vehicle is moving. There is also the possibility to plot the history of a given vehicle. In this case the dots are connected with eachother. Extra info of the vehicle status is added in the pushpins balloon text, which is default hidden. Problem: The user must have the possibility to view the extra info of a vehicle, by double clicking the pushpin and viewing its balloon text. PROBLEM: the line object is in front of the pushpin !!! This forces the user to manualy remove the line, and then click on the pushpin, as you can see, this is not what I want. Possible solutions: -change the order of layers, that the pushpin is a layer above the line layer (how?) -the possibility to hide the lines with a click of a button (how?) -... Tnx alot for the info add: i'm using VB and MapPoint 2002         |

When you add an item to the map, use the ZOrder Method Code: GeoZOrderCmd Value Description geoBringForward 2 Moves the shape up, or forward, one position in the order geoBringInFrontOfRoads 4 Moves the shape on top of roads geoBringToFront 0 Moves the shape to the first position in the order geoSendBackward 3 Moves the shape down, or back, one position in the order geoSendBehindRoads 5 Moves the shape behind roads geoSendToBack 1 Moves the shape to the last position in the order |

I think your problem is much more profound then a layer issue. Since you can show which way a vehicle "is moving" this type of real time application is now illegal with MP 2004. If your application is not real time, then it is just ridiculously expensive. Vehicle restictions has it own forum. Go to http://www.mp2kmag.com/mappoint/disc...wforum.asp?f=6. This forum also offers a couple other companies to look at.
