Hopefully a simple one for you - I've linked data (Excel 2003) to a map in MapPoint. I've updated the data in the Excel file, and updated the map using the 'Update Now' function. The revised figures are showing in map when the 'Show Information' function is selected; however the data value ranges (symbols for mapping) do not appear updated.

For example, the data ranges show a black circle for values -5,000 to 3,999, a red circle for values 4,000-12,999, and a yellow circle for values 13,000 to 21,999. The original value of one mapped item was 13,996, making it a yellow circle. This value was changed to zero, but the circle is still yellow, rather than black after updating, however the 'Show Information' confirms that the value itself has changed. No changes have been made to the legend - I did think however that the colours of the pins (circles) would change according to their new values?

Please let me know where I'm going wrong....

Hello Helen,

I've had this very same problem.

It appeared to me that it was due to my having a great amount of pushpins
or varied dataset pushpins or a mix of these two.

Sometimes I'd hover over or click on a pushpin that was supposed to have
changed and it would change at that time until I clicked on another pin and
it would revert back to the wrong symbol.

If I were to give advice in this situation, it would be to save after each dataset update.
