I'm currently looking for some publicly available global test data in KML or GeoRSS - especially if spatial distribution is important.

I've found a few KML files (eg. marine reserves, and H1N1 cases) but these are very large - typically 10-20MB when uncompressed.

I need something that is more reasonable (say, <1-2MB) when in an uncompressed KML format.
This is for test and demo work - so if you have a cool dataset that fits this specification, then I might be able to give you a little bit of publicity in a few months time when the project in question moves from "test" to "demo"...
