Benoît Quévy, the company's CEO, points out that, “If you can use Microsoft Excel, you can use TourSolver.” Low prices combined with ease of use allow companies to recoup their investment quickly and painlessly. “By reducing mileage, planning time and maybe even some unnecessary vehicles, our customers can quickly put the savings right back into the bottom line,” adds Quévy.

Magellan Ingénierie has won the Oséo Anvar Innovating Company certificate (awarded by Anvar, the French National Agency for Promoting Research) for technology which it has successfully used in the UK to handle predicted traffic on the basis of road statistics. The variations in journey times will influence the order in which customers are visited, taking into account the greater or lesser degree of fluidity in traffic flow depending on the time of visiting. In addition, there is no longer any need to calibrate speeds as per the type of road as TourSolver manages all this data itself.

In the present era of continual increases in fuel prices and low economic growth, TourSolver route-planning software can reduce mileage, planning time, and the number of vehicles used for delivery or customer visits. Taking into account an array of constraints – including enhanced management of delivery days and time slots, frequency of visits, distinct places of departure and arrival, variable mileage costs, new regulations and speed weighting – TourSolver is invaluable for reducing transport costs. A cost of under €4,000 (£2,500) for a 10-vehicle fleet makes it much more affordable than rival products, particularly for small businesses.

Companies worldwide rely on TourSolver to improve their operations. Recently, La Normande, a subsidiary of Sodexho (a world leader in the mass catering market), reduced its fleet from 30 to 25 vehicles.
