scribble tools (with color and thickness control).

Thank you for your help, and I have explored that tool, but what Im really trying to find out (and do, if its possible) is upload my data set to MP, and then manually draw my route, and be able to export it to excel in the order that I determined by my manually drawed route.

any idea how to do that?

MapPoint doesn't do this for some odd reason.
I work with databases and do this in code.
I also have a VB6 COM Addin that does it

Winwaed has something also - Mapping Tools for Microsoft MapPoint

Can you describe the solution you came up with and what you programmed it to do?

Yes - Route Writer, I believe.

What I made was an addin that would simply import pins
and sequence them according to a column in a spreadsheet.
I have a jet database template that does the same.

One can further manipulate the sequence in MapPoint
or by re-running the addin routine .

I customize it for practically everyone who asks.

It sounds like Mike offers these services, but yes "RouteReader" (a part of RouteWriter) can create routes from pushpins. The pushpins are ordered to a data field inthe pushpin definition (eg. a column imported from Access, Excel,etc). A new feature also allows you create a route from a subset of the pushpins. This means you can import the pushpins for a week (say) at once, and then with multiple runs, create the routes for each day without having to re-import your pins each time.
