Map-In-A-Box 2.0 brings affordable Routing and Proximity analysis to MapInfo Professional.

March 16 , 2003

(EAST LANSING, MI) -- Today, at the MapWorld User Forum in New York City, Mapping Solutions LLC announced the release of version 2.0 of its flagship product, Map-In-A-Box for MapInfo Professional. This new release includes street-level routing and proximity analysis harnessing the Microsoft MapPoint routing engine.

Commenting on the launch of this release, David Langley, the chief technical architect of Map-In-A-Box said, "Currently there are other routing and proximity add-ons available for MapInfo Professional, but the cost of the street level data stretches most companies’ budgets. Also, the configuring and the pre-processing of the street-level data to run with a routing engine can be a very complicated and cumbersome task. Map-In-A-Box solves these challenges and delivers this functionality at an affordable price point. Desktop routing has never been easier."

Proximity analysis includes a 'Find the nearest' module, Sales Territory Modeling and other batch routing capabilities.

Map-In-A-Box 2.0 also includes black and white aerial imagery and 16 color USGS Topographic maps for the entire United States. These new features require an Internet connection utilizing the Microsoft TerraServer USA web service to download and geo-reference images 'on the fly'.

Large scale printing from the MapInfo Professional layout window is now available in Map-In-A-Box 2.0 Vectorized data can be mixed with multiple oversized images of street maps, aerial images and Topographic maps; these images are dynamically resampled before they are printed, resulting in stunning large format printer output.

Map-In-A-Box runs on the Windows platform with MapInfo Professional 6.0 (and above). Three versions of Map-In-A-Box are available: the Northern American Edition, the European Edition and the Solo Edition. Map-In-A-Box 2.0 also includes the support for MapBasic customization and integration into your own custom applications.
