Map Updates

I think there is a definite need to update the map database between releases. Areas with significant growth rates are out of date in MapPoint 2004. Street and highway constructions seems to be at 2001 or 2002 in the Phoenix area. This means that more than 100,000 addresses are not in the current release.

Are we the only 2 that see this as a need? I was traveling on roads today that aren't on the map, and have several customers who's address don't exist in Mappoint. I need updates!!!

Map Updates

I agree as well. Is MapPoint dead? Is there really going to be a new release?

I built some serious dispatching applications that use MapPoint 2004 and they are rapidly becoming out-dated. I'm wondering if I should scrap the entire project and rewrite it with a "better" (more expensive) mapping component.

Mappoint really seemed to be a nice fit at the time. I guess now I'm seeing the downside.

Re: Map Updates

Someone on this forum posted that they were able to use street information from Streets & Trips to update their mappoint. I would search around for that. I looks like a dirty hack, but if it works without errors, I would go for it.
